Your basketball team can help fight cancer by designating the proceeds collected at one or more basketball games to raise funds for the National Foundation for Cancer Research. In doing so, you will become a part of a bigger movement - the national campaign to "Shoot for the Cure." Your team will receive updates on how the funds you raised are being used for life-saving cancer research so you and your supporters will know how your contributions and your effort are making a difference. Teams can fundraise by charging a ticket fee for spectators, donating the proceeds of the sale of food and beverages, and/or asking individual players to collect pledges/donations.

How to Get Involved:

Step 2: Read the Shoot for the Cure Event Manual. This will give you some great ideas on how to raise funds and awareness for your event.

Step 3: Set up your own fundraising website. That way, funds can be collected online, as well as through the mail. Create your own site at www.firstgiving.com/nfcr.
